There are several Robert Ward’s who are poets and as I do not wish to have my poetry confused with other poets, I thought that I would inform you, of this fact. Now about me; as I am partial to old sayings, I must start by quoting one of my favorites. “It’s better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” And right off, I resemble the latter half of that remark by putting my thoughts and emotions on paper. My only defense would be, it might just be the time, that only fools keep silent. But I guess I will have to let time be my judge and jury. My poetry ranges from the absurd to the serious. I don’t believe, that I can tell you any more of myself, than what my poems already reveal. I will tell you, that I believe, like another the old saying states; “That an ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure.” And I believe, that if we want to continue to have a future for our children, we must set aside our selfish notions of nationalism, religion, and race, and act as one global community, for we no longer have the luxury of a disposable type of society or self-interest, because we now impact the planet, like never before. And the need for tomorrow, must come before the gratification of “today only thinking”. I cannot offer you any answers, for all I can do, is ask you, the questions.
